About Mark W. Darsow
A little bit of background on Mark:
Mark was born on May 26, 2003 at Deaconess Hospital in Billings, Montana. As Memorial Day fell on May 26 that year, dad said that Labor Day and Memorial Day came at the same time...Mom (for some strange reason) didn't find it quite as funny as dad did at the moment he was being born.
Mark is growing up fast! He is 6 years old and is in 1st grade this year at Newman Elementary School in Billings, Montana. Mark likes his teacher Mrs. Fuson (pronounced few-sun), and for some reason unbeknownst to either of his parents believes that bats can be larger than his teacher. Despite the fact that Mrs. Fuson is not much larger than Grandma, dad has his doubts as to the validity of this belief. The possible size of bats aside, Mark is doing well in 1st grade and attributes his success to the fact that Mrs. Fuson makes things easy. Mark walks to school (a whole 4 houses away from the front door) with Sally in the morning and especially enjoys recess and playing games--go figure.
Mark currently has a pet garter snake which he caught on a snake hunting trip with his dad down at Riverfront Park. We were actually looking for a bullsnake, but Mark was more than happy with the fine looking and extremely friendly garter snake which ended up coming home with us that day. The garter snake devours goldfish like nobody's business and replaces 2 smaller baby garter snakes and a baby toad which Mark caught a few weeks earlier down on the banks of the Yellowstone River.
In addition to his garter snake, Mark wants everyone to know that he has 2 weiner dogs. Their names are Peanut and Brandy. According to Mark Peanut is "pretty" and Brandy is "cute." Apparently there is a direct correlation between size and cuteness or prettyness as Mark informs me that Brandy is too small to be pretty and Peanut is too large to be cute. Hmm....
The last tidbit of information which Mark would like to share at this time is that he enjoys playing Ben 10 Alien Force with Michael and that, for various reasons, he does get mad at his sister Sally from time to time.

Look How Strong I Am! This is a short video of Mark showing off his amazing super power strength for the video camera. The video was taken on June 28, 2008. The scene was completely unexpected and just happened (by a stroke of luck) while I was playing around with the video camera in the living room. I tried, unsuccessfully, to get Mark or Sally to perform so that I could test camera settings, but he finally came through with this classic moment! The video clip is only 20 seconds long, but is perhaps one of the funniest 20 seconds ever recorded. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Don't forget to turn on the sound for this one. |
